New StarSkate Program
This fall marks the soft-launch for the new STAR 1-5 program that replaces the Preliminary and Junior Bronze levels of StarSkate.
The STAR 1-5 program is designed to target an athletes 'window of trainability' they go through as they mature; in particular, Skill Development (8-12) and Flexibility (6-10).
This is considered the "golden age of learning" and is paramount for optimum skill development.
This new program creates a better bridge between CanSkate to Figure Skating, it introduces more complex skills earlier, has a strong focus on quality basics, and removes barriers for progression.
The assessment in the STAR 1-5 program will be performed by the coach who is teaching the skater the discipline that is being assessed.
Coaches will be introducing this new program to their skaters and getting ready for the hard launch in the fall of 2017.

More boxes of chocolate are available for sale. Participants in this fund-raising drive are eligible for prizes:
One prize will be given to the top seller (most boxes sold). Three other prizes are available through a Draw.
Every family will have a ballot put into the draw. For every extra box sold, your name can go into the draw again.
If you are interested in selling more boxes please contact an Executive member or the Club by email.
Fundraising plays a vital role in the success of a non-profit organisation. It helps keep costs lower so that the sport is more affordable for a majority of people. Thank you for your help in raising funds for our Club—past, present and future !
